Laura Bush to recognize local library's service
First lady Laura Bush will recognize the Mathews Memorial Library at a breakfast Jan. 30 at the White House, said library director Bette Dillehay.

Anthony Hopkins, 37, of First Avenue, was charged Feb. 3 with robbery, burglary and seven counts of kidnapping on the 1000 block of Fifth Avenue. Reports said Hopkins forced his way into a United Disability Services bus and tried to take the bus carrying six passengers.
